Why we decided to donate a copy of ToadPig to every kids school in Portsmouth.

The book is all about being kind, so it was only natural for us to pay something back to the local community.

Myself and Mark want our story to be accessible to all little readers and so have decided to donate a copy of ToadPig to every Infant and Primary school in Portsmouth. Find out more about the reasons why in Mark Stratton’s blog post below:

Free ToadPig books for Portsmouth schools!

Being local to the area Tomo and I wanted to give something back to some of the kids living in Portsmouth, a city with relatively high levels of deprivation, by donating copies of our new book to the schools they go to.

We recently donated a copy to every Infant and Primary School in Portsmouth (that’s about 40!) The Portsmouth School Library service helped us with the task of circulating the books. From our perspective the most important thing is for children to enjoy ToadPig, no matter who they are or where they live.

We also believe that the moral of the story is particularly pertinent at the moment and challenges us to think about how we might choose respond to what others say about us. It also helps a lot that the illustrations are awesome!!
